The Soft Touch

This is an eerie image. It makes me very aware of the bones in my face...

One of my girlfriends has just started seeing this guy who is an illustrator. So, my next job was to fb stalk him. :)
I found his website http://www.mattkatzonline.com/ and found this gem.

When i was at College, I did art, I did Graphics, but it never came so easily realistic to me. It was always at the cartoon end of the scale.
This is why I appreciate this sketch and how tallented he is. His shading is perfect, the hues and contrasting lines -I LoVe it :)

Lucy 2011 Ball Gown

Lucy got in contact with me and asked if i'd be interesting in making a Ball Dress for her.

To be honest -I probably wasn't that enthusiastic.. but when she said what dress she wanted to base it off -Mila Kunis' Oscar Gown - It was possibly the only dress I had been obsessed with since the Oscars show.

So naturally I had to say yes :)

I got online and found photos (below) of how it was made and how she styled it to give Lucy some ideas and see what she wanted to do with it.

It was alot of fun making this dress.

We changed the Skirt and removed the train (as a train at a school ball is ever a good idea -I learnt the hard way) And she basicaly left it all up to me too see what i could do.

I tried to keep the detail on the neck line the same but I did raise it slightly so she wasn't so 'out there'

Lucy had talked about making it knee length as most Wellington Ball gowns these days are more cocktail dresses (think- Saturday night town dress + styling) But she was in the end that this gown really needed to be floor length to make it what it is.

But in True Bridget fashion -I turned up with the finished gown the day of the Ball and what happens... the zip breaks... sigh. So off i went to get a new zip, which i couldn't find, so i use a black one and moved the zip from the centre back to the side seam.

Which actually made it look alot nicer. the back was smooth and was more flattering -We just made sure she posed with that arm by her side :)

You looked Beautiful Lucy :) xo

My Foot Fetish

Ok soo... It all started when i saw the Fold Hi in FQ AW09 -I was amazed because i hadn't seen anything like it.

I was beyond in LOVE with the them. Done. I knew i had to find them :)

I ended up looking for a really long time and then stumbled across their online store.. and bought them... Eeeee!

Once i got them, I wore them into town and they were awesome. In some lights, they even glowed in the dark !

Fold Hi -(Nectarine)

So in the spirit of filling up my wardrobe with Timeless but amazing peices (because i don't see myself changing size.. well, ever-) I thought what is an efficient but also cost effective (as in, not all at once) way of doing this.

I figured, every year after my Birthday (Jan) i will hunt around for 'The Year's' shoe and get an amazing pair that's that little bit more worth while and i can see having forever.

Soooo Since it is Jan I am now on the hunt! And these are some high contenders...

Pin Belt -(Cognac)

Eamz Pump -(Black)

Abstract Pump -(Black & Stone)

As you may notice, they are less in-your-face in the colour department. But I was thinking, I should start with the basic, more neutral shoes so i hae the staple peices to work with and then i can go more adventurous. So this year a pump in tan or a dark shade, next year a strapy neutral and then i can do what ever.
I am almost thinking I should go for the Abstract Pump as it is a limited edition style where the Eamz is a Classic which i will be able to get next season in new colours.

But it is quite high... But then again i am quite Short so it doesn't matter... right?

Also this is the Preview for SS12 so i may just wait a little longer and see what i like in a months time :)
